Behavior Management Plan
For my rationale I decided to come up with a two way system that rewards student’s positive behavior and also it gives the consequences for minor and major problems.
Positive Behavior in the classroom
*We would add more
REWARD TIME:
If students show and maintain a positive behavior in the classroom they would receive classroom bucks, which students can redeem for many prices. Some prices include homework or bathroom passes, or extra time in the computer. As a class we can create more rewards as the year progresses.
Consequences for minor and major problems or breaking one of the rules and procedures:
*Major problems would be managed depending on the gravity of the case. These problems can be things like bullying, fighting, or threatening the safety of the students or the teachers. The consequences of a major problem will count as third infraction and we would go from there.
Rationale:
I decided to go with a two way system since it would be easier for my students to remember the appropriate behavior I expect from them. One part is the positive behavior that they can show in class and the rewards that come with it. This part will reward students for their positive behavior, by using this simple reward system it will “add interest or excitement to the class routine while directing attention toward positive behavior and away from inappropriate” (Emmer & Evertson, 137). I believe that is essential to reward my students for their positive behavior, and to not only encourage positive behavior, but also to minimize negative behavior.
The second part deals with the consequences for breaking one or more of the rules and procedures that are listed in the other page. The purpose of list of consequences is to prevent inappropriate behavior in the short and long run (Emmer & Evertson, 171). The list will help me cease the inappropriate behavior and control the environment in my classroom. I have to types of problem “minor” and “major” so it is easier to identify a problem and also it would be easier to take action on the problem. I have 5 infraction/consequences that are fair and adequate to correct inappropriate behavior. I start with a nonverbal warning like a hang signal or the “teacher look” to signal an issue, and then move on from there. My goal with this two way system is to maintain and restore order in the classroom as quick as possible, without disrupting the learning environment.

Positive Behavior in the classroom
- Coming to class on time and ready to learn.
- Turning homework and other assignments on time
- Giving helpful comments and actively participates on class.
- Completing their own work, and respecting other classmates and teacher.

Consequences for minor and major problems or breaking one of the rules and procedures:
- First infraction: Non-verbal warning
- Second infraction: Verbal warning
- Third infraction: after school meeting with me
- Fourth infraction: Detention
- Fifth infraction: Call home and meeting with parents
